November 2024
the geese flew over
I caught the geese flying over just recently in a pink sky with a rising moon over the freezing Merrimack River and I instantly wanted to send you this print. The painting is one I made after a goose encounter with baby Freddie on a freezing March walk. November to March - the geese leave and then come back again in the circle of the seasons. And I am so acutely aware of my own seasonal shifts just now as my boys get bigger and I refocus my energies.
I went to the ballet and devoured the experimental choreography to Max Richter’s re-interpretation of Vivaldi’s 4 seasons. It seems I am not alone in constantly turning to the seasons with questions and to learn lessons.

I wanted to give you a tactile prop with this mailing, so please enjoy a goose feather. I hope you’re enjoying the cycle as I am, sweet friends.
