Elizabeth Noble (b. 1986) is a painter whose work begins with observation. Rooted in her background as a scientist, her practice evolved from field notebooks into a way of noticing and documenting meaning in daily life. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Elizabeth studied Art and Biology at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota and is now based in Wakefield, Massachusetts. She paints to explore significance in even the most mundane corners of her world. Her subjects are neighborhoods, people, and the common plants, animals, and objects she encounters. Sometimes recognizable and sometimes more abstract, she melds them with color fields and bold marks to communicate the energy and emotional quality of experience and to summon sensory memory and imagination.

Elizabeth is an active member of the Cambridge Art Association and the New England Experimental Art Group, where she continues to investigate the power of creative practice. She splits her work between commission and self-guided projects. Past illustration clients include Boston Children’s Hospital and Postural Restoration Institute and her paintings hang in numerous private collections across the United States.
