Invited solo show at The James Center for the Arts, Norwell Massachusetts, October - December 2019
In Noticing
A dead fly on the windowsill. A small bruise on your forearm you don’t remember getting. Trash catalogs full of vacant gazes that arrive in the mail only to be tossed later tonight. The last direct ray of the day’s sun leaving a fleeting stroke of gold on the dining room wall.
In this collection, artist Elizabeth Noble uses scraps of daily debris and interprets them through paint layer upon paint layer as an exploration of the intimate and ephemeral nature of life.
Here, beauty, dirtiness, and everything in between joins in noticing.

Thank you.
All of my gratitude to the many, many people who made this show possible: Thank you to Bill Houser for the invitation and to all the staff and patrons at the James for highlighting my work, and for pouring your time and energy into supporting local artists like me. Thank you to my dear husband Whitney for years of support and cheerleading, to Susan and John for connecting me with the James and for the extra positivity and child support as I launched this show three months after returning to work from maternity leave. Thank you to Michelle and Adam at Norwell Spotlight TV for your interview and promotion, and South Shore Home, Life & Style for the coverage. Thank you to Bailey Merlin for content editing and years of creative encouragement, to Jimena Codina for the love and brilliant curating + concept consultation, to Christen Baglaneas for professionalizing and broadening exposure with PR and concept work, and to the visionary Molly Shuttlesworth for photography and styling and for simply adding delight to my life.
To all my dear friends and family and James patrons who attended, gave feedback, purchased art, pushed me forward, and listened to me ramble about this project, THANK YOU. It was a tremendous honor.
