About: I saw a bull snake in the shallow reeds at the edge of a lake in Wisconsin. It was beautiful and instinctively frightening. The visual experience was so lush and overwhelming: a multitude of textures and patterns with glittering sun bouncing off of the muddy water. The experience coincided with my early formation of a new series called Pieces of Eden. I had to paint the experience.

This piece was featured in the interior design work of The Freshmaker, and featured in the Boston Globe Magazine on February 18, 2024. It was also featured in the Cambridge Art Association’s Patterns in Nature show in 2024.
