Making celebration :

This month’s print is a reproduction of an 2014 oil painting of my childhood home entitled:

“I Remember”

As the holidays begin to wash over my routine, I’ve been thinking about the necessity of celebration. I’m also eagerly awaiting a long trip home for Christmas, to introduce my little boy to all the traditions I knew as a child.

Celebration is on the calendar. We can pour lots of energy into preparing for big holidays but recently, I’ve also begun investing energy in little ways to add merriment and ceremony to my daily routines.

This month I wrote you a letter about how I learned the significance of celebration the hard way as a young adult in Boston. I also write about the ways I’m working to find daily celebration amidst the demands of family life.

In line with all of that, I made you a little illustration of a candle that you can use as a menu card. I hope it helps add some ceremony and pomp to holiday meals, OR better yet, to simple, daily meals at home.
