Rabbit, Rabbit :
This month’s print is a reproduction of a brand new little oil painting of a nighttime bunny entitled:
“Rabbit Rabbit”
At the beginning of each month, my friend Emma and I say “rabbit, rabbit” to each other. It is and old tradition that marks the newness of the month and is supposed to bring luck. I’m not sure about the luck, but it has become a cheerful reminder to honor the cyclical beginning of calendar months.
I feel like I’m swimming in beginnings. Here we are in this new month, in a new year, in what feels like a new period of pandemic living.
This print is the first of a little series of bunnies I’m painting to sort through all this newness. And as always, I’ve written a long, jabbering letter about it.
This month, I’m also sending along my favorite colored pencil so that you can use it to mark up your new calendars and beginning of the year to-do-lists. Happy New Year, everybody!
