October 2022

“Blue Blessing”

This month’s print is a reproduction of a painting of sandhill cranes flying off into the horizon. The piece, completed March 2022, is composed of oil paint and reflective gold and magazine collage on canvas.

simple wonder

The seasons captivate me. I could write to you about the changing light, about colors and foliage… but these past two weeks, its really the birds that surprised and delighted me the most.

Migration season is here. I wrote about the birds in the neighborhood and pulled out images of a painting that speaks to this exact thing: birds reminding me of the simple, vast, and profound wonder of the natural world that surrounds us.

I’m also sending along some squares of gold foil, the same that I used behind the painting. Coincidentally, it is origami paper and I thought we could fold a little origami crane to celebrate the season together.

Wishing you a little wonder with the changing weather.

Love from Boston,

-Liz
