March 2023

This month is all about inching forward.

Progress in the studio has been steady but painfully slow and I confess my grouchiness and lack of patience. As luck would have it, my dear friend Laura texted me about this old, old painting from 2012 while I was concocting the Print Club. I thought wayyy back to the time when I bought oil paints and committed to painting for myself in my tiny apartment. This piece is called Four Quarters at the Haymarket and it is one of my earliest non-college works.

Spending time with this image and thinking back to the girl who made it gave me a lot of perspective. I decided to make it this month’s print. I’m passing it along with a long letter update.

I’m using everything I can to motivate myself in a season of nose-to-the-grindstone work. So I designed a little card to write motivational phrases, prayers, and reminders on. I share a copy of it for you to use too.

I am feeling extra grateful for the Print Club. You keep me in rhythm and you’re there receive ideas and even frustrations. Spring is on her way so, I’m already looking forward to a studio full of that.

Talk to you oh so soon.
