Print Club: October 2023

A few notes about work:

Getting to Work” is your print this month. Originally a small ink and watercolor illustration, this 5 x 7” reproduction looks exactly like the original. It is both a little reminder to sit down and begin, and encouragement to do the work that matters.

I am in a long and thoughtful process of updating my art practice and my business to make it sustainable and to give it room to expand. It feels a little bit like work-therapy. But I realize that we are all attached to our work in personal ways. I am trying to measure my worth less by my productivity and my output. I continue to grope for exceptionally lofty, long-term aspirations. But I am finding more and more satisfaction in being clear with my intentions and in sitting down honestly to get on my way, inch by inch.

This letter is a light-hearted one. I sent it with some little paper clips thinking that I could accompany you all at your desks in the next few weeks. I suspect you are trying to focus on work before the holiday season as I am.

Godspeed toward your work goals!

I hope this mailing gives you a little encouragement as you sit down to do your work.
