I wanted to make you a daily painting print because I’ve made so many of them recently. It really is a reflection of the studio. This piece was painted on September 1, 2023. My dear friend Bailey gave me the most stunning bouquet. And I wanted to paint it… but by the time I managed to do so, the flowers were face planting.

Hilariously, it is my kind of bouquet: local flowers, big and bright and a little worn out. I’m making so much work and the abundance and color of the moment in my life is undeniable. I wrote you a letter about that and musing on seasons of life.

September is buffet for a nature-lover like me. I find I’m increasingly taken by the weeds as we begin fall. I’ve been painting them a little, but I wanted to draw some that I picked on a walk for you. I made them into some simple stationery that you can photocopy and use as you like!
