lighting a match

I am painting new work and doubling down on my creative focus. Sparking creativity is like lighting a match. It can take an age to catch. It can go right out. I am fanning creative sparks feverishly right now with the hope I’ll get something blazing soon. I have a little show at the local library opening June and I’m painting new work for it. There is more work to paint after that for a big show of portraits that will open in September. It is time for deep work.

I made a little illustration of a matchbook just for Print Club. My professional printer printed my raw scan instead of the crisp digital file I ordered. But I got attached to the speckles from the scanner bed and quality of the resulting print - it all suited the subject matter more than the edited version. So, unlike most print clubs, this one is a special, limited edition. I am sending it with a pretty little match box of to help you with your creative spark.
